Videogamer.com reports that a new Call of Duty game is in the works for iOS devices like the iPhone and iPad. No official intel is available at this point, but the site claims that it’s being developed by the recently-formed studio Activision Leeds. There’s no word yet if the iOS game will be an entirely new experience, or a port of the upcoming Vita mission Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified, which is due to deploy this fall.
If the rumours are true, the new iOS game will be the third Call of Duty mission to launch on Apple devices. The two previous iOS games were zombie shooters, and Activision has also released an official app for Call of Duty: Elite.
The next console game in the franchise, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, will hit stores on November 13. If the iOS game is the real deal, expect it to arrive around the same time. Don’t forget that the free-to-play shooter Call of Duty Online is also in the works.
