Battlefield 3 Gets New Matches Feature

DICE has announced a brand new feature for Battlefield 3, known as “Matches,” which “will allow players to coordinate competitive multiplayer sessions with their friends and squad members.”

This feature will give server owners the ability to “select the time, server, game settings, and roster for their matches, creating a controlled and definitive environment for competitive play.” Players on all platforms will get access to the new feature through Battlelog, but must be renting a server to do so.

“Once a dedicated server has been selected the Match host can set the Match name, start time, game mode, team size, and map rotations,” explains DICE. The developer promised more details and a release date soon.
